Inspired by the celebration of Historical Centres National Day, this year scheduled for March 25th, Alumia project suggests a new tour through the city, which explores once more the theme of Light and its relationship with space. The new tour will be available from March 24th to 28th and includes nine artistic installations in public space. The two first installations (“Start” and “Eclipse”) remain since the first tour, initiated on December 5th last year, while the other seven were selected through an open call launched on November 25th by this project fostered by PortoLazer.
Located at Lóios Square, “Start” will be the huge starting point of a tour that invites the public to penetrate the core of the Historic Centre, calling for new looks upon the territory classified as World Heritage.
The seven new and surprising visions will be distributed between the Virtudes Walk and Vitória Stairs and aim to transform daily life of these streets, especially during night-time, when they launch their shadows upon the dense set of houses in the area.
Although it is related to the celebration of Historical Centres National Day, the new tour will be officially inaugurated at 19:00 on March 24th, being available until March 28th.
During this period, guided tours to the installations will be daily promoted, starting at 19:00, 20:30 and 21:30. The visits are free and open to the general public, but registration is required through the email email@example.com.
Promoted by PortoLazer, Alumia is a cultural programme, which celebrates the Historic Centre of Porto, in its 20-year anniversary of World Heritage by UNESCO.
