ALUMIA Project thanks the accession to its open call, accomplished through the admission of 20 applications, both individual and collective. Coming from knowledge areas so diverse such as architecture, urbanism, engineering, design, performing arts and audio-visual, the applications presented original approaches to the challenge set.
The Jury that assessed the 20 applications consisted of:
A member from PortoLazer: Cláudia Melo;
A member from the cultural programme área: Carlos Martins;
A member from the artistic creation area: FAHR 021.3 (Filipa Almeida and Hugo Reis)
After the qualitative assessment of tenders, the Jury decided to select the following seven tenders (listed in order of application entrance):
“Gerador (de 6 Volts) de Comunidade”, by Oficina Galo, Mónica Loureiro and João Gaspar;
“Manifesto da Luz”, by João Dias-Oliveira, Nuno Mota and Rossana Ribeiro;
“A Casa do Senhor X e da Senhora Z”, by Patrick Hunmann and Renata Portas;
“Yellow Sobremarine”, by Pedro Barata;
“Umbra”, by Elas Duas;
“Ride The Light”, by João Félix and João Relvas;
“Tile-Light”, by DFL–Digital Fabrication Lab (Rodrigo Waihiwe and José Pedro Sousa)
The Jury also decided to select in additional tender, in case of withdrawal or the process of one the seven tenders above cannot be concluded: “Escada”, by Colectivo Ora.
